SECRET SALENTO

Santa Cesarea is famous for its warm therapeutic waters and interlinked caves. There is a popular Christian legend which tells of Cesarea, persecuted by her father, seeking refuge in these caves. Santa Cesarea is built along the high rocky Adriatic shore, and if you are a member (or pay for a daily pass) at one of the local clubs, you can rent a lounge chair on one of thier rocky platforms and follow their steps into the sea to swim. Restaurants and music are nearby to add to add to the convenience and relaxation.

The drive from Otranto to Santa Maria de Leuca along the Adriatic Coast gives one of the most spectacular views in all of Italy. The panoramic road snakes high above the rocky coast and passes through Santa Cesarea, where it arguably reaches its apex in beauty.
